At the Dentist Clinic, we try our best to keep the natural teeth during the treatment of tooth decay or misalignment. Tooth extraction is our last option for extreme cases where the treatment is not financially viable as agreed by both the dentist and the patient. However, in case of wisdom teeth, the third and final set of molars, the dentists often recommend the removal as impacted wisdom teeth could cause several problems. When they are misaligned; they can crowd or damage adjacent teeth or they can be difficult to clean and entrap food particles or bacteria and cause tooth decay eventually.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction Procedure

Firstly, an oral examination and an x-ray to review the positions, sizes and shapes of the teeth and the bone structure around the teeth. Secondly, an administration of local anesthetize near the site of each extraction followed by a surgical process including incision and drilling to detach the teeth from the soft tissue, wisdom tooth removal and stitching to close the surgical area. After the extraction, you must bite the gauze to absorb the bleeding for one hour.
After a wisdom tooth extraction, in 24 hours you must follow the instructions below carefully to prevent infection and accelerate the healing:-
