After the braces are removed, patients are required to wear retainer to hold teeth in position while the surrounding gums, bones and muscles are settled into their new positions. While wearing retainer, patients must not move retainer with your tongue as the aligned teeth are still not firmly in position and they may shift.

          Orthodontic treatment takes time, approximately 2 years. Following orthodontist instructions and proper oral care are key factors to successful treatment.
