Gingivitis and Periodontitis

Over 90% of Thai population are unaware that they have a certain level of gum diseases as the diseases show only when there is an infection, inflammatory and pain. Plaque and calculus collected for a period of time are contributing factors in gum diseases.
They host to a complex micro-system of micro-organisms whose pathogenicity and virulence cause inflammatory diseases of the gingival & periodontal tissues. Without proper treatment, the tooth root, supporting bones and gum will be destroyed. The symptoms of periodontitis include bad breath, gum bleeding, gum infection, pus seeping from the gums, receding gum, loosing teeth and teeth falling off eventually. Immediate consultation with the dentists is required to prevent further damages.
Treatment of Gum Diseases
With our advanced x-ray system, the diagnosis and treatment plan can be completed rapidly and efficiently. Then, in an attempt to reduce plaque and bacteria from the roots, the dentist use scaling and root planning processes to deep clean and treat gums affected by gingivitis and periodontitis. After the treatment, follow-up visit with the dentist is required to determine whether gum recession continues and whether gingival grafts (periodontal plastic surgery) and/or bone reconstruction are necessary to prevent tooth loss.

Gum Disease Prevention
Gum disease prevention is simple including proper oral care, correct brushing, mouth washing after brushing or after meals, flossing, and regular check-up. Scaling every 6 months is highly recommended to minimize accumulating plaque and calculus which is the cause of gum disease.
